Pelvic Floor Training

Pelvic floor training is very important to help post partum/pregnancy urinary incontinence or leakage. It is not unusual to leak some urine following child birth but you are more likely to do so if you had urinary incontinence before or during pregnancy. This is caused by increasing pressure (from the baby) on your ligaments, nerves and muscles that support your bladder and urethra (your pelvic floor muscles). It is also known as stress incontinence due to the stress on your bladder and urethra. Following pregnancy you may still be leaking a little urine. You are more likely to suffer from it if you gave birth naturally or vaginally rather than having a C-section delivery.
